Oncogenes into six categories according to their functions
We have divided the oncogenes into six categories
according
to their functions:
1) signal transducers,
2) no-receptor kinases,
3) growth factors,
4) growth factor
receptors,
5) transcriptionfactors
and
6) others.
Based
on our examination of the oncogene origins, we have observed some general
relationships between the origins and the functional categoriesof the oncogenes
